DESCRIPTION:Rockin 4 Heroes is a non-profit organization created to honor Veterans\, Gold Star Families\, Active Military and First Responders. Bonnie and Michael Quinn started the organization 3 years ago to honor these 4 Hero Groups mainly because when their son PJ died of cancer as a young man 3 years ago\, the First Responders were so helpful and kind to the family when their son needed ongoing medical care and transportation.\nThe event is a fun filled concert featuring Leonid & Friends\, a famous cover band for the band Chicago. The event is free and the proceeds will be donated to the 4 Hero Groups listed above.\nFYI: Rockin’ 4 Heroes is an all-volunteer free tribute concert to honor our First Responders\, Active Military\, Veterans and Gold Star families. Join us on Sunday October 15\, 2023 at 2:00 pm (gates open at 1:00 pm) in Oro Valley at James D. Kriegh Park\, the event will run about 3.5 hours.\nHighlights of this year’s event:\nOur nation’s colors will be presented by an all-female group of combat veterans\, from Women’s Warriors\nWe have been approved by the FAA for a 4-jet flyover\, DMAFB Colonel Mills has confirmed a 2-jet flyover. (still working to get 4 ????)\nRetired Major General Ted Maxwell will join Retired Vice-Admiral Dr. Richard Carmona in our Opening Ceremony to officially honor two World War II Veterans in attendance.\nA ten-piece string section\, compromised of past and present Tucson Symphony musicians\, will join Leonid & Friends (the band) for the second half\nWe ask everyone to bring a folding chair to sit and invite as many folks as you like (no coolers or pets allowed) \nAll net proceeds benefit organizations that serve our hero groups. This year’s beneficiaries include Dogs 4 Vets\, which serves disabled veterans to acquire and train their own Service dogs. Strength & Shield\, a Police Chaplaincy program was founded to assist Arizona law enforcement agencies to create their own Chaplain programs.
