When Tragedy Strikes (Remembering El Paso & Dayton)

I’m sure you’ve heard about the tragedies that happened in El Paso, Texas, and Dayton, Ohio all over the news recently and we at Family Life Radio have as well. When attacks like these happen, it becomes a kind of reality check that there are sin and evil in the world today and it can make us sad and maybe even a bit angry. I definitely feel that way sometimes myself, but that’s when I try to remind myself of one thing.

First of all, God’s coming back one day for you and me. The promise of Jesus’ return is something we can cling on to when all hope seems lost because that’s when we all go home to be with Him, surrounded by perfection. But in order to make it there, that means we have to endure the world until He comes back. It’s going to be tough, but the promise of eternal life is steadfast.

This week, we talked a lot about how we stay faithful in God when tragedies like what happened in El Paso and Dayton happen and we had some great discussions. Take a listen down below.

I know that it’s a big hit to take when we hear about attacks like in El Paso and Dayton, but what God can make out if it will be greater than we could ever imagine. We have the hope that God is the Comforter and we can trust that He’s got this, even in the midst of tragedy and heartbreak.  I hope this reminder encourages you today.
