You Can’t, but God Can!

When life feels too heavy to carry alone, God gently reminds us that we were never meant to do it by ourselves—and that His strength truly is enough.

“Cast your burden on the Lord, And He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved.”
— Psalm 55:22 NKJV

God has a way of meeting us when we’re exhausted from carrying more than we were meant to hold. Sometimes He doesn’t arrive with answers, instead He brings truth that resets the heart.

Leslie from New Mexico, experienced that kind of moment—one that changed her from the inside out.

“I was really overwhelmed. I was trying to do it all, and I was so depressed, I attempted to take my life. Then an interesting thing started happening. Every time I got into my husband’s pick-up truck, all of a sudden, I was on Family Life Radio. It began to penetrate my mind that what God was saying—’You are not designed to be able to do it. I’m the One who does it.’ And when I began to realize that, my life and behavior began to change. It has been changing ever since. I am a different person.”

It was never yours to carry alone—God holds what you can’t.

Leslie didn’t find hope by trying harder. She found it by releasing control. As truth settled into her heart, she began to understand God never asked her to do everything on her own. That’s the promise of 2 Corinthians 12:9. God doesn’t wait for us to be strong. He supplies the strength Himself. When we stop striving and start trusting, transformation begins.

Leslie’s shift—from “I should but I can’t” to “I can’t but God can”—is where real freedom lives. And it’s where lasting change starts. God met her in a truck, through a radio station with truth that reshaped how she saw herself.

If you’re feeling worn down from trying to do it all, God never intended for you to carry life alone. His strength is ready. His help is near. And He is faithful to continue the work He has begun in you.
